Important Note for Console Players

Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch players: Please read this section carefully!

Console Limitation

Unfortunately, Microsoft restricts custom server connections on console versions of Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Unlike PC and Mobile, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch do not have an "Add Server" button in the game menu.

✅ Native Support
  • • Windows 10/11 PC
  • • Mobile (iOS & Android)
❌ Requires Workaround
  • • Xbox (all versions)
  • • PlayStation 4 & 5
  • • Nintendo Switch

Workaround: DNS Redirection Method

The good news: There's a reliable community workaround called BedrockConnect that works on all three console platforms!

How It Works:

  1. 1 Change your console's DNS settings to use the BedrockConnect DNS server
  2. 2 Restart Minecraft and go to the Servers tab
  3. 3 Click on any Featured Server - you'll see a BedrockConnect menu instead
  4. 4 Enter play.bhsmp.com in the custom server field

DNS Settings to Use:

Primary DNS: 104.238.130.180
Secondary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Note: This workaround is maintained by the community and works as of early 2026. While reliable, Microsoft/Mojang could potentially change policies in future updates.

Troubleshooting

Can't connect to the server?

• BlockHaven is currently open to all players - no whitelist required!

• Check that you're using the correct address and port.

• Verify your internet connection is working.

• Try restarting Minecraft and connecting again.

"You are not whitelisted" error?

The whitelist is currently disabled, so you should be able to join freely. If you're still seeing this error, try the following:

• Make sure your Minecraft username is correct

• Try restarting Minecraft and reconnecting

• Check that you're using the correct server address

Bedrock: "Unable to connect to world"?

• Make sure you're using port 19132

Console players: Check the "Console Limitations" section above for the DNS workaround method.

• Some networks block gaming ports - try a different network or ask your admin.

Version mismatch?

We support a wide range of Minecraft versions. If you're having issues:

• Java Edition: Try using the latest stable release

• Bedrock Edition: Make sure your game is updated

• The server uses ViaVersion to support multiple client versions
